Working at the Humane Educational Society can be a rewarding experience. ANIMAL CARE ASSOCIATE


Animal care associates provide humane care and treatment for the animals in our care. They assure and maintain the standard that the animals’ stay will be as happy and comfortable as possible. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting dog kennels and cat cages, feeding and watering of animals, proper handling of animals, bathing, grooming, medicating, and exercising animals when assigned to do so. Computer skills a plus.
 

ADOPTION COUNSELOR


Adoption counselors provide in-person and telephone customer service. They educate clients on responsible animal guardianship, animal care, and local ordinances. Counselors interview potential adopters, complete all necessary paperwork, and perform follow up services of adoptions. Strong customer service skills and computer experience are necessary for this position.
 

ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICER


Function and duties include a variety of assignments to provide excellent animal control services to the community by enforcing state and local animal laws and regulations, responding to complaints about animals, investigating cruelty in animal cases, educating the public about animal care, rescuing sick, injured or stray animals, and protecting the public against rabies. Strong communication skills are necessary. Computer skills a plus.
