Upcoming Events
Humane Education (January through May): The
Humane Educational Society is joining forces with the Department of Education to
enhance a child’s path to becoming a responsible and caring person. By
incorporating Hamilton County School Character traits, HES is creating awareness
and educating a more humane ethic for treating and viewing animals.
Spay Day USA (February 27th): Want to inspire people to spay and neuter
their pets, improve pet health, and help end the tragedy of pet
overpopulation—all in one day? Get involved in the 13th annual Spay Day USA on
February 27, 2007. Hundreds of humane organizations participate each year,
increasing their public profiles and reducing the number of accidental litters
born in the spring. During Spay Day USA’s first 12 years, participants spayed or
neutered an estimated 1,366,000 animals.
Fall in Puppy Love (Feb 10th , 11th): Find your forever Valentine at the
Humane Educational Society Puppy Love Adoption Fair. Look for a lovable pooch or
kitty at the HES Shelter and/or Petsmart (Gunbarrel) on Sat. Feb 10th, and at
Petsmart (153 Hwy) on Sun. Feb 11th.
Paws for a Cause (February): Help the animals at the Humane Society as
they give a facelift to their shelter. Improvements include a new intake area,
new adoption rooms, real life rooms for dogs, a real life room for puppies,
another free-roaming cat room and a pet boutique.

involving teachers and students in Hamilton County, benefiting the Humane
Educational Society.

Paws in the Park (October 13th): The Humane Educational Society will hold
the 6th annual Paws in the Park at Coolidge Park. This event is a wonderful
opportunity to bring your dog to Coolidge Park and walk for the animals. This

$40,000.00 was raised to help animals in our community. Next year the event will
be bigger than ever.
