Rabies Vaccinations

State law requires all dogs and cats in Tennessee to be vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian. Pets three months and older must wear tags showing they were vaccinated.

Licenses

All cats and dogs (dogs only in unincorporated Hamilton County) three months and older are required to be registered annually with the Humane Society. Once your pet has received a rabies vaccination, you may purchase your annual license tag from the Humane Society. By law, every dog must wear a current license tag at all times. Simply mail a copy of your rabies receipt or take it in person to the Humane Society with the appropriate fee. Should you choose to obtain your license by mail, be sure to include a self addressed stamped envelope. Fees are listed below.
