To report a stray, injured, or abused dog or cat in the City of Chattanooga contact City Animal Services at (423) 698-2525.

Stray, injured, or abused dogs and cats found in Hamilton County should be reported to the Humane Educational Society at (423) 624-5302.

For concerns regarding an aggressive dog or cat contact one of the Animal Services listed above.

The primary mission of the Humane Educational Society is to provide a temporary haven for abandoned domestic animals such as dogs and cats. While we do accept the occasional pot belly pig, rabbit, ferret, chicken or goat and other animals deemed as pets, all wildlife concerns should be directed to the following resources for further assistance:
